Who We Are
The Joan Nicole Prince Home provides 24-hour bedside care for two terminally ill patients in a homelike environment.
•Not a medical facility
•Operates independently by the Schenectady Community Home, Inc.
•Staff and volunteer caregivers serve as surrogate family for the residents
•Residents of Schenectady and surrounding counties
•Accepted on the local hospice program
•Prognosis of three months or less
•Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order in place
•Unable to live safely alone and/or have an inadequate care giving system in the community
•Has the greatest need and the fewest options
Services are free of charge
Continuous care provided through the extensive use of volunteers and staff

•Relies solely on donations, community support, grants and contributions
•Does not receive Medicare, Medicaid, insurance reimbursement, nor any state or federal funding
•Plans/conducts numerous fundraising events
